Piperdam was featured in the Sun Newspaper 'the Saturday' supplement. This is what they had to say:
BY JEAN YOUNG
I HADN’T had a break since the festive holidays and was practically living in my office, so I leapt at the chance to get away from it all.
One girl and her dog - just me and my golden retriever Alfie - in a log cabin at Piperdam on the doorstep of the Sidlaw hills by Dundee.
I wanted good food, good wine, fresh air and lots of walks to chill out with my pooch. I wasn’t disappointed.
The scenery aroudn Piperdam is stunning, and you can have as big or as small a lodge as you want. I had a two-bedroom luxury hideaway which would be great for a romantic weekend.
But Piperdam’s flagship Vegas Lodges sleep up to 12 people making it ideal for family get togethers, hen parties, or spending time with friends, all year round.
They even come with sauna and hottub on the balcony...swish.
Action lovers should look no further. Just because I wanted to chill and veg out doesn’t mean everyone has to. You can have a rootin’ tootin’ time to yourself.
Piperdam offers the total Scottish experience including golf, fishing and fantastic leisure facilities. Body zorbing, quad biking, air rifle range, archery, crossbows, fencing, water walkerz, snorkelling and sea scooters, disc golf, indoor canoes, raft building AND a new tennis court has just opened.
There’s easy access to professional tuition and training, or simply take the opportunity to have a go at something new at a pace to suit you. There’s also a 20 metre indoor heated pool, sauna, steam room, spa bath and air conditioned gymnasium. Phew! I’m exhausted just thinking about it and was delighted when an old pal popped in bearing vino and an overnight bag. And if the romance of the place gets to you it also offers civil wedding ceremonies in idyllic surroundings - one of there finest venues in Scotland.
Alfie and I were happy to explore the great outdoors, in the fresh air and just chill. Piperdam also offers that...in bucketloads. It is easy to see how it earned itself a Scottish Tourist Board Diamond Award. I curled up in our comfy sofa, the music on low and a book in hand as Alfie rested his head in my lap.
Holidays with you best pal don’t come much better than this.
Piperdam also has a fantastic onsite restaurant The Room with a View - very aptly named - the vista was stunning. It serves the best of Scottish fare from rolls and snacks, to a full A la Carte menu. There’s also the lovely Howies bar where I indulged in a couple before another briks walk aroudn the huge site with mutly.
It is also a great base to explore Scotland, St Andrews is closeby and the Highlands within easy reach.
At the end of a wonderful weekend Alfie and I were ready to return to the rat race and face the working week again.
My batteries were fully charged and raring to go.
Piperdam was an experience I’ll never forget - like a trip to Paradise.
No kennel fees and a happy hound on his holidays. Ah - that’s the life!
